A Little Background

I remember as a young child liking to have my room neat and tidy, but truth be told, my mother would often help me put things away. She taught me the old adage "a place for everything, and everything in its place."

Fast forward to my first career doing administrative work. I seemed to be the person that would organize the office supply cabinet for no other reason than being able to find the supplies I needed to do my job. My next career was as a Preschool Teacher, and once again, I found myself volunteering to categorize all of the books in our school library and also finding better ways to store the multitude of toys, games and puzzles for the entire school.

Upon retiring from teaching, I was searching for something to do that would allow me to be my own boss, utilize my passions and skills, yet still allow me to teach others. I watched a few episodes of "Hoarders" and while I was curious about the clients, I found myself more interested in the organizers that would go in and help transform the space. I did some research and discovered NAPO - National Association of Productivity & Organizing Professionals, saw that they had a local chapter and set out to attend my first chapter meeting. The rest is history, as they say.

Since joining NAPO, I've attended all of the National Conferences since 2014, and have volunteered for various activities within my local chapter.
